Dante Velasquez Bio
Dante Velasquez was born in New York City in the 1970’s to parents of Puerto Rican and Italian descent. At an early age he developed an interest in fashion, hair design, and make-up artistry, inspired by both his family and the artists of the period. It was the combination of the constant exposure to this, and the style and glamour of the 40's, the late 60’s and early 70’s that influenced Dante to formulate the D.V. aesthetic.
The D.V. aesthetic is a harmonious blending of timeless, international style, glamour, sophistication, fun and sex appeal. It is an aesthetic of form and function, which anyone and everyone can apply to their own life, no matter what their age, gender, culture, race or economic status. It is the basis of Dante Velásquez Inc.
Throughout his formative years, Dante honed and developed a wide range of skills as a metaphysical specialist, delving into the spiritual aspects of life, whilst simultaneously perfecting his skills as a personal image designer, interior designer, hairstylist, make-up artist, skin care and fragrance specialist. His chosen forms of expression also include the visual arts; including digital painting and digital photography, as well as the performing arts; including dance and fashion modeling.
His long term study of the Tarot, I Ching, Viking Runes, Astrology, and auras, chakras, energy healing and balance; together with his vast cosmetics and design experience, ranging from people to spaces; have helped create a trove of information and resources based on the D.V. aesthetic. These in turn, have provided guidance and knowledge to help himself and others better understand themselves and live more fulfilling lives. Dante has helped many people through difficult and confusing times in their lives through psychic/spiritual guidance and readings, & basic aura and chakra balance and health.
Technology has always been of specific interest to Dante. As a child he loved to work with and program the original home computers, analyzing the pre-written code to discover it's purpose within the programs, and later creating his own coded programs for his own purposes. As he matured and the internet boomed, Dante taught himself HTML, JAVA, CSS and other web design formats in order to design his own websites. He then added the technological advances of the digital age to Dante Velásquez Inc. in order to create convenience & efficiency, to help reach those who desired his sevices around the USA and could not be in NYC, and to help the environment by reducing paper waste. To this day, Dante Velasquez Inc. consumes a very small percentage of paper and maintains most of it's information in digital and cloud format.
After living abroad in Spain and Mexico, Dante discovered his love of travel and all things international. He regularly enriches his daily experience with exposure to foreign language, people, culture, travel and experiences.
This love of foreign culture extended to learning other languages from an early age. Dante speaks fluent English, Spanish, and French, and is currently working on his fluency in Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.
